This morning we went on the Adams historical tour through the national park service. We got to take a trolley to John Adams birth home, and the home next door he inherited and had all of his children in. John quincy adams was born in the second house. It was neat to see where the second and sixth presidents were born. I wish we could have taken pictures of it!! Those two homes were built in the 1660 and 1683.
I loved seeing both of those homes. The kids did ok, Kelsey seemed to be bored, but hopefully she learned something!
We also go to see and tour the home John and Abigail bought after his term for presidency was done. Here is a pic of the outside, after it had undergone three remodels.
The coolest part was the library John Quincy had built for his dad, but after his dad had died. It was a separate building so there was less chance of it burning down. It had 12,000 books, the oldest one dating back to 1551. That book was a bible concordance written in Latin. It was so cool to experience and really see where history took place.
After the tour we went to the USS Salem, a battleship from the WW2 era. We got to tour most of the ship, which was amazing. I can't imagine living on a ship, it makes me so incredibly thankful for the men and women who had served and are currently serving our country.
We went for a walk along the beach after that, it was a beautiful day!
We ended the night with a Bon fire, so we can add a smoky smell to the previously described scents.
Have a great night!

Sounds like a great trip so far! Thanks for sharing!! If you find any dirty dishes in the sink, you can think of me :)
